Omar Sanchez
Omar Sanchez, M.S. The Ohio State University
Omar is a doctoral student in the Adapted Physical Education program at The Ohio State Univeristy.
Omar was born and raised in the South Texas area. He moved to San Antonio in 2014 where he attended the University of Texas at San Antonio as a transfer student. There he served as a member of the Hispanic Student Association and Vice-President of the Club Tennis team.
Omar currently serves as a physical education teacher located in San Antonio, Texas. As a physical education teacher, he has developed The Great Brotherhood Program to assist at-risk fatherless elementary–aged male students who suffer from social and emotional disorders. The purpose of the program is to build a sense of community among elementary aged males and provide them with male role models in an effort to increase positive behavior outcomes.
Omar’s research interests are social and emotional disorders of fatherless students and the preparation of general physical educators to better serve students with disabilities in the general P.E. class.
