Steve Holland, Old Dominion University 

Steve is a third-year doctoral candidate in health and sport pedagogy at Old Dominion University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from Purdue University in 2014, and his master’s degree in exercise and sport science with emphases in adapted physical education and adventure education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2015. Steve taught for three years as an itinerant and school-based adapted physical education and special education teacher in Fairfax County, Virginia. Steve served as a student representative on the North American Federation of Adapted Physical Activity board from 2018-2020 and was co-editor of the triannual NAFAPA newsletter. His research interests are centered around the physical education and physical activity experiences of marginalized populations including students with disabilities, trans/non-binary students, and the intersection of disability and trans identities in physical activity spaces. Additionally, he has explored the socialization experiences of adapted physical education teachers.
