Dr. Joonkoo (J.K.) Yun

Dr. Joonkoo (J.K.) Yun is LeRoy T. Walker Distinguished Professor and a Chair of the Department of Kinesiology at East Carolina University. He has been committed to improving the quality of adapted physical activity services for individuals with disabilities.  He has mentored nearly 100 graduate students, including over 30 graduate students, as a major professor. His research focues on the issues related to measurement and revealing underlying mechanisms to promote physical activity and inclusion. His ultimate research goal is to promote full participation and active lifestyles to improve health and the quality of life of individuals with disabilities through evidence-based practice. He currently serves as a director of the multi-institution adapted physical activity doctoral training grant from the US Department of Education to training leaders in adapted physical activity.
