Robert Sawyer

Robert Sawyer, M.Ed., West Virginia University

Robert Sawyer is a first-year doctoral student and Graduate Research Assistant at West Virginia University, working alongside Dr. Andrea Taliaferro in the Coaching and Teaching Studies program with a cognate in Adapted Physical Activity. Robert received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. Robert then earned a Master’s of Education Degree in Kinesiology for Individuals with Disabilities. Robert has spent the past 15 years working as an Adapted Physical Education teacher in Roanoke City Public Schools, where he worked closely with multiple Special Olympics programs. Robert’s research interests include adapted physical education and developing inclusive communities.
