Thomas Wilson Jr.

I am Thomas Wilson, Jr., a current PhD student at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. I completed my undergraduate studies at Norfolk State University where I began to engage with adapted physical activity through programs and events such as Camp Abilities, Little Feet Meet, Old Dominion University’s Mighty Monach program, and more. Following, my undergraduate studies, I completed my master’s degree in Adapted PE from the University of Virginia. During which time, I worked locally as an Adapted PE teacher, as an Adapted Swim Instructor at the local YMCAs, participated in University Autism Water Safety intervention research, and created access to free swim lessons to students with Autism at the local school for the Autistic. One of major my life and career goals is to create and make accessible culturally relevant adapted physical activity programs for youths with disabilities in rural Black and Indigenous communities.
